How Do I Earn the 2019 WSJ Participation Award?
With only 2 days left to the jamboree – and only 16 hours of program time remaining – time is running out for you to have your best possible jamboree experience. Have you unlocked YOUR new world yet?
We’ve all had an incredible jamboree so far: full of connections, personal development, and adventures. You’re so close to earning the Jamboree Participation Award!
To finish unlocking the participation award, be sure you visit one of these outstanding programs between 8:00 and 17:00 on Wednesday, 31 July or 8:00 and 15:00 on Thursday, 1 August:
- Better World Tent
- Faith and Beliefs
- Global Development Village
- GLOBE Leadership Development
- Living in the 21st Century
- Mt. Jack Experience
- North American Dream
- World Point
A Novus badge is earned by clicking your wristband on the touchpoint sensor after completing the requirements as explained to you by the WSJ staff supervising the badge. You do not need to push the touchpoint.
Grab a buddy and plan your last two days to visit one or more of these exciting, engaging areas, and complete your participation award before the jamboree program ends on Thursday afternoon.
How do I Receive my Participation Award?
Be sure to pick up your one-of-a-kind 2019 WSJ Participation Award patch! Unlike most of the Novus badges, the Participation Award is a physical patch that you can keep.
Youth can pick their participation award patch up for free at the Connected Experience/Our Story area near Subcamp C-1 or at any Novus help desk in the Summit Center or any base camp.

- 09:00 – 16:00 (1 August 2019)
- Connected Experience Tent: 09:00 – 17:00 (31 July 2019)
- 08:00 – 18:00 (1 August 2019)
- Summit Center: 09:00 – 17:00 (31 July 2019)
- 09:00 – 16:00 (1 August 2019)
IST/EIS and unit leaders can purchase their patch at the Connected Experience/Our Story area near Subcamp C-1, the Globe Tent, or Rover Pavillion in Basecamp E. Hours are as follows:
- Globe Tent: 09:00 – 17:00
- Rover Pavillion: 17:00 – 22:00
- Connected Experience Tent: 09:00 – 17:00
