Following recent media reports of the Boy Scouts of America (one of the 24th World Scout Jamboree co-hosts) to explore financial restructuring options, the Organizing Committee of the 24th World Scout Jamboree would like to provide assurance that the preparations for the event are proceeding according to plan.

The Boy Scouts of America has reiterated that it is committed to ensuring that programming of the Boy Scouts of America continues uninterrupted. The Jamboree Organizing Committee believes that such financial restructuring, if pursued by one of the co-hosts, would not impact their ability to offer a quality experience to the almost 50,000 Scouts and Scout volunteers who will attend the Jamboree.

It is important to note that the three co-hosting National Scout Organizations (Scouts of Mexico, Scouts Canada and Boy Scouts of America) took the decision 3 years ago to establish a separate legal entity for the Jamboree, known as “NewWorld19, LLC”, which operates separately from all the co-hosts of the event.

The World Scout Jamboree is an official event of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) and is governed under its authority and auspices.  The Organizing Committee and WOSM will continue to work closely to ensure a memorable Jamboree experience for youth participants, volunteer staff, and the communities we serve.
