One of the most highly anticipated activities of the 24th world scout jamboree without a doubt is the barrels section of the Summit Bechtel Reserve. I left my camp early and went to the shooting range by bus. I was able to shoot a .228 rifle which was so loud that every time everyone shot a round I jumped. It was very different and I think I did ok but I don’t think I hit any of the targets.
I ran across site to meet the former secretary of state as well as one of the co. Chairs for the jamboree.
After loads of shooting I went back to camp and prepared myself for my subcamp bash which was just one big party with thousands of people. There was a country band who played their own songs as well as some well known country songs, and of course they had to play country roads. Overall the bash was mental as everyone just danced about and there was even a mosh pit which was so much fun.
