Hi Réitseal and Mark here, with only a few days left days till the jamboree and as our first post as Global Ambassadors we thought we’d share with you some packing tips and tricks we’ve learned along the way.

    • Packing essentials: Flip Flops (for the showers)
    • Sun cream / after sun
    • Bite / sting cream
    • Earphones (for traveling)
    • Lavender bags (for controlling odours)
    • Travel adaptors
    • Sewing kit (for new badges or rips)
    • Blister Plasters
    • SPF lip Balm

Packing tips:

    • Pack items into Ziplock/packing bags to save space and to control odours.
    • Avoid bringing too much.
    • Make sure to pack your bag before you leave for the jamboree so that you’re comfortable with its weight.
    • Roll clothes to save space in your bag.
    • LABEL EVERYTHING so if you lose something you can be contacted.
    • “Last in first out” keep items you’ll take out regularly towards the top of your bag i.e. your passport for travelling

We’ve told you how to prepare physically but how about Mentally. The WSJ is a 12-day event, being away from home and family for so long will make everyone homesick at some stage so you should be aware of when to take 10 minutes out or when to talk to someone.
You should be aware of others in your patrol and if somethings on your mind its important to get it out there. Arguments will happen but you should talk them out as soon as possible.
The jamboree will be tough physically and it will tough mentally but at the end of the day it’s a once in a life time experience and we can’t wait to meet you all there.

Yours in Scouting
Réitseal and Mark
