It is less than 260 days to go before International Service Team members (ISTs) begin to arrive for the 24th World Scout Jamboree.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Summit Bechtel Reserve, in West Virginia, the site of the WSJ 2019. The site is ready to go with water lines, shower houses, and campsites, along with an amazing array of adventurous outdoor activities for the participants.

The IST will comprise over 10,000 volunteers who will work together and serve a vital role in motivating and supporting over 35,000 participants and unit leaders from over 157 National Scout Organizations (NSOs).

ISTs will ensure that all the participants attending the Jamboree will have an inspiring and memorable experience that will last their lifetime.

As an IST, you will work as a member of a team, and bring along your positive attitude and experience and be ready to do whatever it takes to do with whatever needs to be done in order to ensure that the Jamboree runs smoothly.

Our IST Experience team looks forward to meeting you and providing you with a memorable experience too. For IST members, we want you to know that extensive efforts are being made to ensure the best possible IST experience. “Echo” or “Ephesus” Basecamp, where IST will be camped, will play host to its own gym, yoga area, cinema, music DJ’s, quiet coffee area, badge trading station, and Sauna! We will have some time off to enjoy the Jamboree IST experience.

We will be communicating with all the IST through e-mail newsletters and the website blog, so please watch for future issues as we get closer to welcoming the world to the Summit Bechtel Reserve.

On behalf of the Operations Team, thank you for volunteering as an IST and I look forward to seeing you at the 24th World Scout Jamboree.

Kent Clayburn

Director of Operations
