The Opening Ceremony that welcomed all the 45000 Scouts was in one word: outstanding. Most of the Gloabl Ambassadors had the honour of carrying their national flag during the ceremony. We had three Director of Ceremonies. One from the USA, Canada and México.The two huge screens on both sides of the stage of introduced all of the countries which were introduced. All the flag bearers had seven seconds to wave their flag as their country was introduced. We also had performances from Lebo M. from South Africa and Recycled Percussion.During the show, an excited Bear Grylls came down with a harness strapped to him. That got the crowd super excited. People started throwing their flags at him. After the ceremony,there was a light show and fireworks which displayed many different moving images. It was beautiful. All in all, the ceremony was an amazing welcoming for all of the scouts.
