The time has come for all the musically inclined scouts around the world to show their jamboree spirit by participating in the contest to create the event anthem. All scout age youth are capable of entering the contest to have the chance to win their song being used as a part of the final song. For those of you who aren’t aware of what this amazing opportunity is- in the past scouts participating in the jamboree have written and composed songs to show their spirit. These songs encompass the spirit of scouting worldwide with themes like; friendship, peace, diversity & understanding, leadership, sustainability, and adventure.
In order to participate youth must submit their songs to [email protected] [1] and along with your song submission please include your name, age and NSO number/county. Any questions should be directed to the jamboree social media with the hashtag #JamboSong or submit questions via email to [email protected] [1].
The Contest Timeline
- August 1st, 2018: Submissions begin.
- August 31st, 2018 at 23:59 GMT-05 (EST): Submissions close.
- September 14th, 2018: 4-8 songs will be posted on Facebook, for public voting and voting will start.
- September 24th, 2018: at 23:59 GMT-05 (EST): Public voting will close.
- TBD: The official Jamboree song and the finalists will be announced and contacted.
