Childcare Not Available on Site for the 24th World Scout Jamboree

The 24th World Scout Jamboree will take place 22 July – 2 August 2019 at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.

Depending on the needs of the role they will serve, International Service Team (IST) may arrive earlier and depart later than the 22 July – 2 August date range.

All adult unit leaders, Contingent Management Team (CMT), International Service Team (IST), day visitors, and guests of the 24th World Scout Jamboree must be aware that there will be no accommodations for daycare or childcare services on site at the Summit Bechtel Reserve.

While a fully accredited and licensed camping facility, the Summit Bechtel Reserve is not licensed by the State of West Virginia to offer direct daycare or childcare services.

Therefore, youth under the age of 18 who are not registered members of a National Scout Organization contingent will be allowed on site only as day visitors under the supervision of an adult guardian or scout leader.

For day visitor scout units, Safe from Harm and Youth Protection policy means that there will be at least two adults, one of whom is at least 21 years of age, accompanying the scout unit.  Scouts from visiting units will, AT ALL TIMES, be the responsibility of and under the direction and care of their leaders.

For day visitor families, children will, AT ALL TIMES, be the responsibility of and under the supervision of the accompanying adults.

Again, youth under the age of 18 who are not registered members of a National Scout Organization contingent will not be permitted on the site without being accompanied by adult(s).
